Charles Robinson, chancellor of the University of Arkansas, was honored Oct. 17 by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arkansas.
Robinson, who became the university’s seventh chancellor in November 2022, was presented the Leader of the Year at the organization’s luncheon at the Clinton Presidential Center. Fox 16 anchor Donna Terrell Lambert welcomed guests to the event. The presenting sponsor was First Horizon Bank.
Robinson has been with UA for more than two decades. He joined the university in 1999 as an assistant history professor. During his career, he spearheaded Advance Arkansas — a $10 million scholarship initiative for first generation, low-income Arkansans; and the College Access Initiative to help underrepresented students prepare for college.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arkansas have five clubs that are open to all children ages 6-18 for after-school programs.
